Second step: ask yourself, ‘How much do you know about the deceased life from a scale of 1-10, with 1 – very little, 10 – very much?’
![]() 1-3 (I’m not familiar with the deceased life): we would suggest you to create a simple death notice on behalf of your departed loved one, or contact somebody who knows the deceased better than you to give you more information about the deceased. You can then build the memorial with one of our volunteer’s help after reviewing other memorial site examples available in BuddhistSpace.com
3-5 (I only know the general details of the deceased life): we would suggest you to work together with those who have shared memories and significant moments with the departed loved ones (eg. the deceased close friends or relatives) to compile the story of the deceased via highlights of the deceased in history timeline format (eg. 1920 – graduated from university, 1930 – attain ‘Best Employer Award in Mitsubishi’) 5-8 (I am familiar with the deceased life): we would suggest you to create a memorial site together with those who have shared a close relationship with the deceased to compile as much details about the deceased as possible. You can choose either describing the deceased life in chronological format (history timeline) or functional format (list of achievement/events) 8-10 (I can consider myself the closest person related to the deceased): we would suggest you to create the memorial site by yourself as it is best to maintain the writing style in a ‘single voice’ format. You can include memorial photos or memorial videos as memorial pictures speak louder than words. If you need a second opinion, you can contact us so that we can help to edit the content of your memorial site. After completing the memorial site, you can consider applying to become one of our memorial space editors or forum moderators to help those who are not familiar with our website in the future.
